3M Ordered to Pay $9.1M Over Defective Military Earplugs
For 12 years 3M Company put the health of enlisted military at risk. If you enlisted in the military between 2003 and 2015 you may be entitled to compensation for injuries such as hearing loss, tinnitus, or loss of balance.
The U.S. Justice Department conducted an investigation into claims that 3M and its predecessor company Aearo Technologies, Inc. knowingly manufactured and sold defective earplugs to the United States military and put soldiers at risk for injuries. 3M recently agreed to a $9.1 million settlement to resolve claims that its CAEv2 combat earplugs were too short for proper insertion into users’ ears and that the earplugs could loosen imperceptibly and put users at risk for hearing-related injuries.
