Dr. Mimms’s surgical privileges have been revoked by an Indianapolis hospital and the Indiana Attorney General sought suspension of Dr. Mimms’s license to practice medicine. Dr. Mimms was accused of performing procedures at unlicensed facilities, of not having an anesthesiologist or certified nurse anesthetist present for the procedures, and of not using appropriate or sanitary anesthesia techniques.
On January 26, 2023, the Indiana Medical Licensing Board suspended Dr. Mimms’s medical license for 90 days. Then, in July 2023 it was suspended again.
Dr. Mimms is a bariatric and general surgeon and also performs plastic surgery, cosmetic injections, and laser skin treatments. He practices at Advanced Surgery of Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana which provides cosmetic surgeries including body contouring, liposuction, tummy tuck, neck lift, facelift, Brazilian butt lifts, and breast augmentation.
