FDA Warns Statin Users of Memory Loss and Diabetes Risks
Time magazine reported that statin drugs used to lower blood cholesterol levels have recently gained attention for causing an increased risk of Type II diabetes and memory loss.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a new safety warning to inform patients about the effects that statin drugs such as Lipitor (atorvastatin), Crestor (rosuvastatin), Zocor (simvastatin), and Vytorin (simvastatin/ezetimibe) can have on blood sugar levels and brain-related effects like memory loss and confusion.
