Lynn A. Toops Becomes Equity Partner at Cohen & Malad, LLP
Cohen & Malad, LLP is pleased to announce Lynn A. Toops has become an equity partner at the firm. Lynn started her class action litigation career with Cohen & Malad, LLP in 2008 and was promoted to partner in 2015. Lynn litigates statewide, regional and nationwide class action lawsuits involving a variety of claims.
Lynn played a crucial role in Moss v. Indiana Department of Child Services, involving families who adopted special needs children out of Indiana’s foster care system. The case settled for over $15 million, providing much-needed financial assistance to over 1,800 children who were adopted from DCS’s foster care system. Lynn currently represents numerous consumers around the country in a number of class action lawsuits involving bank fees. She is also currently representing cities and counties across the State of Indiana battling the opioid prescription epidemic in litigation against manufacturers and distributors of prescription opioids. She also regularly serves in leadership positions in class action lawsuits.
Lynn has been named a Thomson Reuters Indiana Super Lawyer Rising Star each year from 2011 to 2019. She was also recognized by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association as the 2015 Consumer Advocate of the Year. Lynn earned her J.D. in 2006 from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
