Reglan GERD Injury Lawyers
Reglan (or “metoclopramide” in its generic form) is a Wyeth-manufactured prescription medication that is used to treat persons suffering from various gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and diabetic gastroparesis (a condition in which the stomach does not contract). In January 2009, the FDA issued an alert warning against the chronic use of metoclopramide and requiring a black box warning on all drugs containing metoclopramide to warn of the risks and dangers of ingesting the drugs.
Studies have revealed that long term use of Reglan has been linked to a neurological disorder known as tardive dyskinesia. Symptoms of tardive dyskinesia include: involuntary and uncontrollable bodily and facial movements such as rapid blinking, and difficulty walking, talking, breathing and swallowing. Other serious conditions that can occur with the use of Reglan include: kidney disease, coma and death.
If you or a loved one is experiencing any side effects after taking Reglan, please contact Cohen & Malad, LLP to speak with one of our products liability/personal injury attorneys to discuss your legal options and help you seek the compensation you deserve.
