In a troubling case reported at Kiddie Academy of Greenwood, a daycare staff member allegedly slapped a 2-year-old child in the face as punishment. The incident, which occurred on November 8, 2024, was investigated by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) and cited as “inappropriate discipline.”
The staff member, who allegedly reacted after the child spit in her face, was immediately terminated, according to Kiddie Academy of Greenwood’s director, Aaron Pankratz. The daycare also reported the incident to the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) and provided video evidence to the authorities. While the issue was marked “resolved” by the FSSA on November 20, 2024, charges against the employee are reportedly pending.
In addition to this incident, inspection records reveal the daycare has been cited for three unspecified critical health violations.
