Meet Jeff

Jeff Hammond is a personal injury lawyer who focuses his practice on serious personal injury and wrongful death cases involving construction accidents, premises liability, defective and dangerous products, industrial accidents, state and local governmental liability, structural collapse, scaffolding accidents, crane accidents, and aerial / scissor lift accidents.

Jeff’s knowledge of the federal OSHA safety regulations extends well beyond his experience in the courtroom. In addition to having completed extensive OSHA safety training, Jeff went one step further and completed the courses to become an OSHA Authorized Construction Safety Trainer. As an OSHA Construction Safety Trainer, he is authorized to conduct the OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour construction safety courses and to educate others on the recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards on construction sites. An in-depth knowledge of OSHA safety regulations has been incredibly valuable during the early investigation, discovery and deposition phases of personal injury and wrongful death cases. Where other attorneys have to hire and rely primarily upon outside experts during these initial phases of a case, Jeff is able to use his training and knowledge in OSHA safety regulations to analyze the facts of the case and guide the early investigation.

Named to the Indiana Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars from 2010-2013, Jeff is also an ardent student of trial advocacy and has completed the AAJ “Ultimate Trial Advocacy College: The Art of Persuasion” that was conducted at Harvard Law School, as well as, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy’s “Advanced Trial Advocacy” program and the AAJ “Advanced Depositions College” in Washington, D.C. A self-diagnosed technology addict, Jeff also strives to make the best use of the latest advanced technology both in his everyday work and at trial.

Jeff earned his stripes as a plaintiffs’ attorney in the courtrooms of Chicago, Illinois before moving back to his native Indiana in 2003. Jeff is licensed in both Indiana and Illinois and actively represents clients in both states. Before returning to his first love of advocating on behalf of injured clients and their families, Jeff spent a number of years in Chicago and Indianapolis handling commercial litigation matters and defending corporations in injury and mass tort cases. These personal experiences representing clients, working up cases and taking cases to trial on both sides of the fence have proved to be invaluable in the evaluation of new personal injury cases, anticipating defense arguments and tactics, and in knowing how to aggressively move cases to ensure that the stakeholders on the other side are paying attention.
