IU Health Arnett Hospital Alerts Patients of Privacy Breach
IU Health Arnett Hospital located in Lafayette, Indiana, notified patients that the privacy of sensitive personal information had been compromised. Notices were mailed to patients on December 31, 2015, stating that an unencrypted USB flash drive containing spreadsheets with patient information related to Emergency Department visits between November 1, 2014 and November 20, 2015 was missing. Hospital officials informed patients the spreadsheets may have included information including patients’ names, dates of birth, home phone numbers, medical record numbers, dates of diagnoses, and treating physicians.
