Irwin Levin Appointed to Marion County Conviction Integrity Unit Advisory Board
Cohen & Malad, LLP is pleased to announce that managing partner Irwin Levin has been appointed by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to the Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) advisory board. The CIU was established to identify, remedy, and prevent wrongful convictions in Marion County courts. Members of the CIU are independent of the prosecutor’s office and serve by conducting thorough investigation of plausible claims of innocence. This work will help ensure people who were wrongfully convicted of crimes have access to justice as well as help improve policies and procedures within the prosecutor’s office to reduce the likelihood of wrongful convictions. Mr. Levin was selected as one of three people to serve on the CIU advisory board.
